Boulder Colorado

So its only 2400km to Boulder, Colorado (from Vancouver) but somehow even flying it takes a full day to get that far.  Thankfully things were on time and I met some super nice people on my flight to Pheonix who did a tour de western Canada going from Calgary to Banff and then to Vacnouver by train.  Sounded like a nice trip and an expensive one.  Those rocky mountain train rides don't come cheap.  The flight from Pheonix to Denver was entertaing as there was a butt load of turbulance and people were freaking out as the plane kept dropping from the sky.  Seriosuly, if it wasn't for seatbelts we would have been hitting our heads on the ceiling.  But it was totally a good lesson because according to Sabrina Wilkie when we first met on a plane to Toronto or some equally crappy place many moons ago I stated "seatbelts on planes were useless and they wouldn't help when the plane crashes into the ground at a million miles an hour and bursts into flames." I stand corrected.  I even got onto an earlier shuttle bus to Boulder which was cool because there was a cute Australian chick also on the shuttle bus also racing Bolder Boulder this weekend.  I know who I'll be looking for this weekend.

Boulder is officailly a rad place.  Think of Kelowna, then add UBC; the real UBC, not the one they have up there already and you have Boudler.  And take away the lake.  Maybe more of a hybrid Kelowna-Whistler-UBC.  People are also polite here and have proper manners.  They ride their bikes on the right side of the trail/path and give a holler when coming from behind.  Why do Vancourites have to be such stuck up pricks all the time without manners and crap. The polite people reminds me of the other Wilkie (Mark), I'm working on a long winded and complex arguement/thesis on your good/evil need for/against god and where "goodness" comes from.  You'll be impressed. I was reading Mr. Rogers and Nietzsche on the flights.  Both have their opinions on this subject Wilkie and its some deep deep stuff.

My garmin said I was running at 5400' today, but I didn't really notice it too much probably beacuse I was distracted by everything else around me.  The hotel is close to the University of Colorado so I ran all around the campus and found a track close by so I can do a quick workout there tomorrow. And the best part to this trip so far is that the hotel is across the street from a Safeway and Starbucks, the two most essential stores for any running trip and adventure.  Also, why the frig is Safeway so cheap down here?  I got peanut butter, 2 X 1L gatorades, 2L water, granola bars, bananas, a wee little thing of almond milk, and 2 begals for $12.00.  When I get home I'm going to buy the exact same crap and I bet it'll be twice as much.

America also has a rediculous variety of fast food places or moderate pace food places.  Has anyone ever heard of Smashburger or Something Moose Deli? They were new to me.  Settled on CPK though, haven't been to one of those in years.  It was ok.  Also, at this outdoor mall place where all the food was there was a lululemon.  Those guys are everywhere too now.  But I was glad to see them here.  I noticed on my run today that they have a lot of cute and athletic/fit girls in Boudler and lululemon only makes their bums look better.  The only down side to that is what goes through their heads - "Do you know how popular I am? I am so popular. Everybody loves me so much at this school."  What movie did I steal that from?  Still, Boudler is a cool place. I don't think this thing has spell check and I'm too lazy to read over this now and look for mistakes.
